Here in Tucson the tech sounds much more knowledgable, and told us that we might not be smart to travel pulling our 18000 pound fifth wheel until the problem is diagnosed and resolved. Not what we wanted to hear, but I can just picture us going up a mountain with 83 vehicles behind us when the power goes out!
I will keep you posted. The tech said to try and drive as many miles as possible to hopefully have the warning go on again, and then he could trace the source. He also indicated the tech in Sierra Vista must have downloaded and lost any information that could lead to a diagnosis.
Same thing just happened to me with my 2009 F-450. Was hauling my 15,000 lb LQ horse trailer with horses in the trailer on the highway and the engine just died down to a crawl. Warning light came on saying Reduced Engine Power. Had to "limp home" at speeds between 5-10MPH. The Ford dealer could not diagnose the problem. The dealer went to Ford directly to find an answer. Dealer had my truck for a week to figure it out. Ford has no answer and says give the truck back to the customer and wait and see if it happens again. This is so unacceptable. I am not comfortable hauling horses with the possibility this happening again. Truck only has 13K miles on it. Not happy!
ReplyDeleteYes not a good thing to happen, hope you can get the problem resolved! Good luck.
